The 2004 Mazdaspeed MX-5 Miata represents a unique chapter in Miata history. Produced for just two model years, the Mazdaspeed was the only factory-turbocharged Miata sold in the United States, combining the lightweight, balanced chassis of the second-generation MX-5 with additional power, upgraded suspension, and distinctive styling.

Finished in Titanium Gray Metallic, this example has just 53,566 miles and retains much of the character that makes the Mazdaspeed so special. The exterior features the factory Mazdaspeed front fascia, rear spoiler, 17-inch Racing Hart wheels, and dual-badged MX-5/Mazdaspeed rear decklid. The black convertible soft top complements the metallic gray finish, and the car presents well with the top either raised or lowered.

Under the hood is Mazda's turbocharged 1.8-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine, factory rated at 178 horsepower, paired with a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission. The Mazdaspeed-specific suspension, limited-slip differential, and additional chassis bracing make this a more performance-focused version of the classic Miata driving experience.

Inside, the cabin features the signature Mazdaspeed black and red sport seats, white-faced instruments, red-stitched steering wheel, aluminum-look trim, and factory Bose audio system. The interior retains its original character, with a few tasteful details including a polished shift knob and red shift boot.

The engine bay presents neatly, retaining the distinctive red Mazda valve cover, factory-style intake plumbing, and front strut tower brace. The car rides on its recognizable Racing Hart five-spoke wheels fitted with Toyo Proxes performance tires.

With relatively low mileage, recognizable factory performance upgrades, and a largely original presentation, this Mazdaspeed Miata offers an appealing combination of open-top driving, turbocharged performance, and enthusiast appeal.

An increasingly sought-after version of the NB Miata, ready for its next enthusiast owner.
